a garbage can tree left over by the park -
digging through the trash gets better after dark -
something inside is rotting away -
don't climb in is all I have to say -
the garbage man is on his way -
get what I can find or it gets taken away
I found a small organ & look over here 3 shards
left of a broken mirror -
a flag pole left on the street alone -
better rescue it & bring it to it's home -
bags of rubble on the curb to take -
throw the in the yard of anothers place...

the truck stirs up dust as he makes his way
& moans to a hault without delay -
tape on the tires & dripping with sludge
boards in the dumpster too big to budge -
diesel exhaust banana peelings lay
on the road left to rot away -
rugged garbage man speckled with grime -
gets out of the rig just in time
he checks out a can smoking black and
opens the lid as my fireworks attack
he gets back in the truck & chases me down -
I go under a bridge and won't be found -
the truck hauls away - smoking from each side -
I get unto a lid & go for a ride -
wasn't too much good garbage this week -
until next time I'll find what I seek
